Detail
The topic i have decided to choose is 'Detail'. I have picked this topic because I want to show people what it actually is, For example some say attention to detail but miss out the key features. Also people relate detail to objects or art but there is detail in everything for example, Human features, Man Made Objects, Natural World etc.
As a photographer I want to share my views and opinions on the topic detail, and for me to do that i will be taking a range of photographs and explaining why i have decided taking them, it may be in a group or individually depending on what they have in common.

Jo Whaley
I have chosen this photographer because she follows the same criteria as me which is attention to detail, within nature. I also found that the lines and the textures of the butterflies are magnified and made to look even more kind of abstract due to the fact that the photographer has focused on these tiny details. I also love the way in which the contrast has been highlighted due to the different colours. I immediately wanted to capture nature and the various colours which the nature has to offer similarly as what she has done, She uses earthly colours such as yellow, orange and brown. The way she has composed her images, the living object such as the butterfly looks like it is moving. Therefore this has inspired me to choose this topic.

These are my first set of photographs I have taken around the school grounds, these are more nature based. The most obvious detail was within the trees and how they are all different and unique.
Final Piece
The pictures that are shown above, is evidence of me creating my booklet for my final piece. The first photo represents me checking the sizing of the image that I have cut out to see if it fits on the page correctly and perfectly. I can also decide where i want the placement of my image and on what side of the booklet, this helps me out a lot because I can decide what else I can put in the booklet so there is not a waste of space.
The second photograph is me applying glue ''Spray Mount' on the backside of the image that I have cut out and checked to see if it fits. When I sprayed it I made sure there was a piece of card on the floor so the the residue from the spray can does not go everywhere and damage the surround area, Also with the spray glue you have to be careful and have a well ventilated area.
In the third and last photo i am sticking it down to the paper, But when doing this i had to be extra careful and make sure that it is not all over the place. When spraying the photo sometimes it tends to curl up therefore you have to be quick with it.

Final Evaluation.
I chose the theme 'detail' for , unit 2 because I'm very keen of the theme in terms of photographs because a lot of objects are well detailed as they include a lot of textures and a range of features.
I started taking close up photos with details which are outside where there is a link to the natural world. The photos which I have taken in this unit are around the school grounds which include nature. I focused on detail such as the the lines and speckles I was inspired to capture these details as after looking at Jo Whaely's work I wanted to look closely at the details. I also zoomed in on the photographs as I wanted to highlight all of the detail and I thought that this was the best way to do it. I then wanted to focus on the lines and details with people so tried to focus on the features of some of my classmates but this didn't work out so well, I preferred the lines, shapes and textures from natural objects.
I used a digital camera with a macro lens to capture the details within the school ground. I than had another idea to create a collage of the two. I wanted to create an interesting composition using nature and the human features. At the end of the collage i decided it wasn't quite what i expected, so then after the collage i started to look into the details of objects and what they offer. Certain objects i could physically move and i decided to capture the movement of them i have created such as the blind cord ect.
The human features such as the face ( eyes, mouth, hair etc), i had interest in because it is natural, Such as nature. But when i was taking the photographs the camera was not capturing the amount of detail i wanted it to therefore i left that idea. If the camera was able to capture the amount of detail on a face then i would have maybe considerd it in my final piece, For example the crease in the skin or spots on the face.
For my final piece I created a booklet with the photographs I have taken and that are on my page. I Cut certain photos and layered them with another photo on top, this was useful for me because none of my work/photos I have taken have not gone to waste.
